Business Continuity Parks ™ and Business Continuity Networks ™
A Business Continuity Park ™ provides services at a location where communications, power and other critical infrastructure are protected from multiple hazards including electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from either manmade or natural sources (e.g. geomagnetic storm). They include EMP-safe power sources on or off the electric grid using renewable energy sources whenever possible. They are often placed in rural areas so that they may be able to provide services to urban areas for disaster recovery planning purposes.
A Business Continuity Network ™ is a network that is EMP protected often connecting Business Continuity Parks ™.
IAN offers an EMP rating system for various elements within the parks and networks. An overall design approach to business continuity will require different levels of protection depending on the importance of the system element being protected and its vulnerability.
